Mr X819 wrote:Cool use of the Australian Survivor tribe absorption twist! I still feel like it sets up an inherently unfair dynamic, but we'll see if Kalabaw is able to eke out a victory. My prediction that they don't and you have another historical moment with Carter and Tony being the first people in your universe to make it to the merge without ever casting a vote.
Interesting that 2 of the 3 former winners are gone now! Though I kind of felt it when Ralph brought up the exact number of days he played Survivor. The fun thing about it as well is that the only winner left, Tony, is technically someone you have never written about. Looking forward to what happens next!

Poor Ralph. He's a good guy and didn't deserve to go out like that. I do feel bad, like he said he didn't do anything wrong but I think we've seen him 2x before and he served his purpose well enough- if in smaller doses than before. But...better him than Dawson though. I thought for sure she was gonna go out, given the foreshadowing of the previous episodes. Yes, and to be honest, it was purposely that way to set up this decoy boot because everyone was supposed to think that Jeff would definitely flip. The edit was also meant to make it seem like both a smart and dumb thing as you said. It's not entirely clear if he did the right thing and if there could be consequences. Thankfully, Jeff made the smart move (in a dumb way, see below) and kept her around. Yes. Meanwhile, Pete is getting built up SO hard towards a fall. It's going to be absolutely brilliant when people turn against him and he doesn't even see it coming. He's playing WAY too damn sloppy for his own good. Pete is very fun and has a huge impact on everything, and he's a huge villain and character who has probably already earned a spot as a Game Changer. Also, I think the way the swap went down is kinda shitty. It lets the winning team cherry pick the strongest members of the other teams, essentially creating a tribe with a MUCH bigger uphill battle. Plus, if Kalabaw had won, for example, they'd basically be choosing who go power, right? They'd only get to pick one tribe member (probably Malcolm), and Tandang dominates Matsing. Just not a huge fan of that particular swap. Yes, that is correct. I get that it's a little bit unfair but I was just looking to set up a different dynamic. I considered just having a random swap like normal but having all of Tandang end up together like that would have not seemed realistic. I realize it makes it a bit unfair and all that but sometimes that's what happens and the players simply have to readjust.
2) Who do you think will be the next to go? Any other predictions for the next episode?
Kalabaw loses again most likely. And Jeff gets fucked. Because if you're gonna be the swing vote and you're gonna make it out like you had a huge decision to make...you're basically telling your original alliance that you don't really care for them and would sell them out for the right price. That's a very valid point. Yeah, they could go for the easy Zane boot, but I have to imagine Jeff is not gonna be too popular with the women, especially since Dawson and Katie are such major characters right now. So yeah, I predict the women rope in Zane/Denise to take out Jeff. TY for the predictions. How shocked would people be in Tandang went to TC??
3) Who do you think will be the Sole Survivor?
Still Malcolm. Can't say he isn't a great pick although he did have a bit of a rookie mistake here but the others don't know about it yet.
4) Overall, who do you love? like? dislike? hate?
Pete is like Chael Sonnen, and I find that hilarious. He's great. Everyone else is mostly great too. I'm glad. I will say that Episode 6 has some different characters get more of the focus so I hope that allows others time to shine more.

Ife wrote:1) What did you think of the episode? It was a good episode! Reading this fanfic, every episode seems like Dawson's impending doom and I'm on the EDGE of my seat seeing if and how she'll survive. I liked the way the swap worked because it was a way that has never been done before, but I kind of would've liked a mixer of the three tribes. I really tried to figure out how the best way to do the swap would be. I didn't want to just have it be random and I considered if I mixed up Tandang and Kalabaw a little bit more, but I thought this was ultimately create the dynamic I was looking for. I was more interested in Kalabaw's dynamics because there was so much going on with the Kalabaw Femme Fatale Trio. In the end, Jeff made the right decision for entertainment value reasons, but gosh, is he ever dull. I actually have liked Jeff- I personally don't think he is that dull, but I DO think he would fit in much better with the group from Matsing. I think Abi is somehow gonna fuck up with the idol lie. Will it be an emotional outburst or just a general slip? No idea. But she'll be the CAUSE of the Tandang empire to crumble, but I don't think she'll feel the brunt of it. That's funny because it relates to a line that is in Episode 6. A small teaser there... 2) Who do you think will be the next to go? Any other predictions for the next episode?Carter might be done soon? He was highlighted so much despite being a smaller character, I think he'll go if Tandang loses probably because Tony wiggles his way out of being booted. Another episode 6 teaser - you will hear the most from Carter that we've heard so far. Katie & Tony aren't finished yet, and Malcolm has a lot of connections in the main story. If Kalabaw loses, it may be Jeff or Zane. I'm leaning towards Zane? I think the next episode will be setting up the merge so we'll probably lose a less important character. Dana could leave too. The merge is getting here pretty quick and it feels like we just started!! 3) Who do you think will be the Sole Survivor? It's a toss-up, but I think KATIE might be our dark horse right now, so she's our top pick. She's game savvy, and really thoughtful with what she wants to accomplish. She's definitely an N-toned winner, but I know you're not afraid to GO THERE with your winner picks, so I'm hoping it's her. I like your analysis here and I think she is N-toned but only very weak Ns. It's not Pete levels of negative. RC is looking really good too, a lot more socially aware in this alternate universe, but I foresee a Tandang downfall caused by Abi blurbing out information, which causes Pete's downfall, which has RC leave in an echo-boom. Abi will make sure RC is disposed after Pete's downfall. Agree that she is also a good pick. I LOVED her in Episode 4 and that was kindof her shining moment so far but not all.MALCOLM looks good if the winner was from Matsing, but I don't really want this option. He's too much of a good guy winner, and I just prefer the other options. True 4) Overall, who do you love? like? dislike? hate? Love:- I love Dawson SO much. She's a great character and I'm glad she's cockroaching her way through the game. A good fanfic always needs a cockroach. Thanks, hope you continue to enjoy her.- Katie is a lot of fun because this was some of the potential that I saw in her time on the show. She's very cunning. I love her sneakiness too and the fact that she's a little bit snarky at times- it's a different side to her personality - Lisa is really well-written. There are similarities to her Philippines storyline, but I think this one tells a different fate. I'm really not sure how things will end with Lisa here. She'll probably survive the possible Tandang empire crash. Thank you. I also really, really enjoy Lisa and think she brings a lot to the table. - Abi is well utilized as well. She's a well characterized UTR character and I think it's perfect. She won't always stay UTR. - Pete's is enjoyable as a villain. He seems like a dream to write about. I think he is great and I wish he rose to this level on the real show but he always seemed a little bit reversed in his villainy. - I loved RC in Episode 4 because she completely told her story. It's kind of funny how likeable she is because I don't think she really is in real life <3 Exactly, me too! I totally agree!! Neutral:- Dana needs some more content for me. I like her allegiances but she's not much of a character. For sure- Malcolm is okay, and I know he's a focal point of the story, but Matsing was such a dull tribe for me, I can't get behind him yet. I like him and I think he's good in all senses: physically, strategically, socially- just like the real show- Tony doesn't really work for me right now. I just don't... care, but I don't hate him. I think we haven't been able to see him in action yet, so he kind of falls in the middle. I like him but the fact that he's been on a very winning tribe hasn't allowed him to work his magic yet but I think his personality is true to character- Carter is not that vibrant, but there's not much to work with. He represents morality in the Kalabaw tribe, but unfortunately that's just very boring as a reader. I've enjoyed him more than I thought I would because he is pretty dopey. I like him in Episode 6. But yeah he's not a star. - Zane is a nothing for me as well. Most of Matsing reaaaaallly bored me, aside from Roxy and Angie to an extent, and I can't remember a thing he's done aside from being connected to Ralph. I also like him though- Ralph also bored me. I don't care for the "work hard play hard" storylines unless they're attatched to Zoe Zanidakis. Is there a reason why you wanted him to be a threepeat from your fanfics? I needed to have 3 male winners that were recent enough; he had a strong exit from Caramoan and he did contribute to the dynamic that I was trying to create on Matsing so I thought it was a good fit Hate: - Jeff sucks in real life, so you're doing a good job in writing his character but my God. LOL - Denise is my LEAST favourite in this entire fanfic. I just cannot bring myself to like anything she says. She's presented very level-headed and mindful but she says the most generic, carbon-copy, moralistic things ever. It's very true to who she is as a person, but it's FRUSTRATING to deal with her in this fanfic because she's boring and predictable and Has To Do The Right Thing. I really just wanna see her wiped out so casually so I don't have to deal with her level-headedness. Bring me chaotic crazies who are too emotionally invested in the game. Not really sure quite how to respond to this one. I think she serves her role well. Artis was okay, and I did enjoy his engagement with Lisa, but he was taken out at the right time. He didn't really fit in with the story.Angie was okay too, I did like and her root for her, but she had no chance on a tribe like Matsing.I loved Roxy and wished she somehow was able to escape being booted so early, but once again, she was doomed by being on a tribe that was mainly level-headed. She would THRIVE in a Tandang environment and maybe even do well on Kalabaw.Jim as a first boot was a good choice because he's my least favourite winner you've had. Agree with all of these except that I'm not sure Roxy would have done well on any of the tribes tbh. I think she had the strategic potential but I just don't know if she would have fit in.

The Very Insane Shark wrote:1) What did you think of the episode? It was good! Thank you. I especially liked how Malcolm lost his idol because he left it at the Matsing camp when the tribe-condensing into Tandang & Kalabaw happened. His only chance to get it back is riding on two factors: survive to the merge, and then pray that the merge camp is at the old Matsing location. Yes, and that is a possibility but you definitely cannot count on that. His idol should be permanently out of play otherwise. As for the boot, Ralph was no big loss. In all honesty I dislike the Keith Nale type players. I know people just eat up the "kinda dumb but lovable country bumpkin" character, but I just find it tiresome. True, and that's why I think Ralph didn't need to last again. I loved him in Caramoan as a character but he served his limited role well here and that's fine with me. 2) Who do you think will be the next to go? Any other predictions for the next episode?Tandang is a total powerhouse now. Yes they are. I foresee them sweeping all the rest of the tribal ICs. I have a feeling that Kalabaw is going to blindside the wishy-washy Jeff next.3) Who do you think will be the Sole Survivor? Hah hah, I have to confess that I thought I had you all figured out. The returnees would place end-middle-end -- in other words Jim was the first boot, Ralph would be the merge boot (middle of the game), and Tony would be the winner. But Ralph's elimination spoils that theory. Aha, things rarely work out so perfectly but that would have been nice. Malcolm is still looking good, though honestly I kinda want it to be someone else since he seems a bit too obvious. RC is still my dark horse. I'm back to thinking that Pete is too OTTN to win. Not sure if it will mean anything, but so far we have Pete as CPN in the Edgic and not OTTN. 4) Overall, who do you love? like? dislike? hate? I still think this is a very solid cast overall. The Pete/Lisa/RC/Abi alliance is my favorite, and the tribe dissolution / reshuffle twist really could not have worked out better for them -- at least in the short term. Everyone else may very well band together against them once the merge hits. That's a good point about the rest banding together at the merge but I think with 3 original tribes it will be hard for one group to stay unified for long as well. And like I figured, the members of Kalabaw became much more interesting when they finally had to contend with TC. Good, I'm glad!!
