It made the show somewhat of a popularity contest except it didn't even do that right. So it's like a fucked up version of American Idol where no talented, undeserving morons get elevated to a win by the moron public who obviously have demonstrated they should never be in charge of deciding results on reality TV or other matters like the country. On top of that, the casting was terrible. I literally didn't like anybody this season, and the majority of people were disgusting. There were a few decent people but nobody I liked, rooted for, or particularly cared about. There were tons of people to dislike, and the winner was 1 of the people I disliked most so of course she won. Speaking of which, wow what a shock the winner ended up being the predictably most rigged individual of the season that many of us predicted from day 1. It was Dick Donato all over again except her advantage was even greater than his. Are any of us shocked that the chick with half a house cast to help her and a secret sister ended up winning and a former vet got 2nd place? 2/3 of the individuals with large advantages went the furthest. Shocker! What a fail fucking season and an absolute disgrace. Although I guess after last season being such a massive fail, they might as well have tried something so ridiculous. I used to like Big Brother somewhat but it's such an embarrassing shitstain these days.

As in the previous season, with the ridiculous 'everybody gets a potential ticket to return' twist, they have been overloading twists on the show to make up for the show becoming predictable.
But getting rid of the Jury was nice. In a show where most of the audience follow the feed or read up on what's happened you get a 'jury' that actually votes on what has happened. That's better than people sequestered, who we hardly see again anyway, and who really don't see everything they need to concerning what happens in the house. Plus we don't have to see 'Dr Will' wheeled out again to give his advice.
Casting was good on the whole, Shelby particularly good. Justin though followed the rather contrived thing the producers tried with James, putting someone in for some set up situations that are supposedly 'funny' but actually aren't. He was equally clueless concerning the game as James.

That's 5.99 x 20,000 (rough estimate based on those online for the HoH comps) at 359,400 total. Not really a profitable endeavor, and my math could be way wrong, but I don't even think it broke one million, tbh.
I think this was a social experiment for the fans because every year we say we want more involvement some way, or we want comps less produced, or real people to be cast, etc, and they give that to us and we still root for the stereotypical nice, white blonde and mock the fat girl, and drag the gay guy, and call every single person a POS but a random few.
This gave Alison a lot of ammo to say that she produces this show correctly in the summer season, and Moonbeam probably saw it as well and will let her and Kass go on for infinity with his pet project.
I doubt it comes back, but that's just me.

Maybe post a less controversial (and insulting) opinion if you don't want people to respond to it. :).
As far as finance goes and if I think OTT was a success or not, I did appreciate your first paragraph. I never thought it could be too profitable, but am still hoping there was enough subscribers and interest to do more Big Brother projects like this / another season.
