the New and Improved version of Always Sunny in Philadelphia, now with Danny DeVito and Ann Archer as the parents seems like a whole new show. And the whole dysfunctional family theme seems to have been largely lifted from Arrested Development. The mom has Lucille Bluth written all over her. I'm enjoying it so far.

I thought it was a new series until I saw the episode description which said it was the second season premiere. I'll have to check it out (since COMCAST fucked up the first time it aired).

^ That was the Season 1 finale and was my favorite from that season, but I think the two new episodes topped any of those. Better pacing, stronger writing.

I enjoyed the new episodes, but not sure how I feel about Danny Devito. I liked it a little better when it was just "the gang".
And to me, no episode will ever top the one where Dee visits the rest home. |

I liked it better without DeVito as well...but its still a great show.
Poor Charlie, first he gets run over and then has to sleep outside his apartment in a wheel chair so Danny DeVito can get it on with some strippers

Danny is alright but I don't like the tweak to the format. Season 1 was like Classic Coke, this season feels like New Coke. It is still a good show but a little too much Devito in the first 2 eps.

Charlie is my favorite. Best episode from last season was Charlie Becomes a Father (or Charlie Gets a Kid) or whatever it's called.

I caught about 10 minutes of this show over the weekend - must have been a marathon. I thought I was going to die from laughing so hard. The one I caught was where the one dude sleeps with the other dude's mom. Then the poor guy tries to get back at him by sleeping with his mom. I about died when he kept getting rejected. This is now officially on my list of must-see tv.

I think it was better when it was just the four of them. There is too much Devito and mom, not enough of the four of them interacting. Loved the cripple at the mall episode. Working the FDR look with the blanket.

As long as his screen time is limited, I think having DeVito on the show opens it up to more story angles they can follow. So in the long run I think he wil help keep the show from getting stale.

The sleeping with the moms episode was great...poor Charlie never gets to sleep with his coffee shop girl, loved it when she slept with devito rather than him

Since I'm new to this show, forgive me if this is old news, but in the description on tvguide.com for tonite's show, it mentions one of the guys trying to hit on a coffee shop girl. Is this an old episode, as apparently coffee shop girl was in the sleeping with moms epi?
Also, the description for the re-run show sounds hysterical. One of them hits on women at an abortion rally. |

The one at 10 is a new one...the one at 10:30 is a re-run from season 1. Charlie has had this crush on the coffee shop girl that Dennis went out with last week since the very first episode, she hates him though.
