Season 5 DVD hits stands tomorrow and Season 6 starts up Monday at 9 PM Eastern. Flat out, some of the best writing on television happens here and although it constantly gets bombarded unfairly with teen drama stereo-types from media and bloggers alike, this show is nothing short of incredible on a week to week basis. The critics hack it, but if you really do watch it, it has been a good show. The reason I started watching it from the beginning was that it filled a void that was left by the old BH 90210. I tried the OC but One Tree Hill was really good. Last season they cut out the Lucas narratives that used to piece the episodes together. Now that was good writing. Last year was fun to fill that void, but the writing was pretty bad. I will still be watching it though because I am into the characters.

OTH is one of the few shows on television that is able to start their season off on the right foot year after year

One thing I like about the show is that, for the most part, all the characters are likable. The only one I cannot stand is Mouth! Brooke is the best though. <3

I never once thought to think of who actually hit him. Granted, it is probably one psycho too many for the series, but I can overlook it as it gave this premiere such an intense feeling, it was a great change of pace, and a pretty damn clever direction to go in. I'm really hoping Carrie was the one who attacked Brooke as I feel that will be such an interesting dynamic to follow next week. I have never felt the chemisty between Lucas & Peyton. I'm big fans of both individually, but as a couple I have always thought that Lucas & Brooke was the far superior couple. With that said, Hillary Burton (Peyton) looked PHENOMENAL and I hope she keeps this look throughout the season. The writers have always planned for it to be Lucas/Peyton so I guess we all just have to adjust to it being permanent... I think we have seen the last of Lee Noris (Mouth) as a series regular. They really have brought that character to it's limit and unless they have unimaginable tricks up their sleeve for him, it seems like the right time to move the character on. Not going to write the epitaph for him just yet though. I won't be surprised if we see him and Mille back by Episode 3. Thank God they are giving Antwon Tanner (Skills) more to do this season. He brings such a great element to the show and I look forward to seeing where the arch with him, Debb and Nathan will take them. Should be really good stuff. Speaking of Nathan, I am really glad that it wasn't he had one dunk in the S5 Finale and all of a sudden he's back. Following him and Hayley chase their respective dreams this season should be a great watch - especially when you add Jamie to the picture... speaking of which, the kid grew. Next week should be phenomenal. Although tonight wasn't what I was expecting at all, this episode was a great watch and it really sets the bar high for what is to come - which is a great sign in my opinion. Hopefully the season keeps up because this premiere was really good. Oh no about Brooke. Her mom isn't just a bitch, she's evil! I didn't see half of last season, but what happened to Carrie? Last I saw, she was just the nanny. It's kind of funny that she is really out for the kid, because I always assumed that she was after Nathan. I can already tell I am not going to like the Skills/Nathan's mom storyline. Just get rid of her! I've never liked her character and I don't really see any need to still include her. It was kind of nice to see Peyton and Lucas together, although I agree, Lucas and Brooke seemed much more natural together.
