Posts: 680 (10/19/06 8:50 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I think a key part of last night's episode occurs in Locke's final flashback, When Locke has Eddie, the undercover cop, at gunpoint, Locke asks Eddie if they (the authorities) chose HIM (Locke) to pick up a hitchhiker and take him to the compound. Eddie's response: Eddie: "Yeah, they chose you, John...." Locke: "Why?" Eddie: "Because you hadn't been here long, didn't have a criminal record, and the psych profile said you'd be amenable for coercion." I think that line is a clue as to why any of these people were "chosen" to come to the island, and/or why Jack, Kate and Sawyer (and maybe Walt) were "chosen" to be taken into custody by the others.

In fact, I don't think there are many passengers that were amenable to coercion to begin with. Which may also be a reason why they were chosen.

I just think that there was some REASON for the line. I think the concept of being "chosen" might be the most important part.... peace

They can't have him going off--ALONE--to "rescue" J/J/K soon enough. The Others will squish him like a bug (as just about everyone his past has done). And the Beach Campers will be safe from him! But Sawyer is easily my favourite character and will never be brainwashed. He may ACT like he is at some point but he won't be. And then BAM, it's 'bullet in the face' time for Benry. MWUAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

He would be the one that would be easiest to manipulate when Ben was in the Hatch with him. They apparently have lots of information about our crash survivors, and a police investigation/profile could have probably been obtained by them fairly easily if they were able to get an autopsy report. Edited to change a word.

Kate, too. I do think that Sawyer and Jack are victims of twisted thinking, though. They don't deal well with stress, which is maybe why they are being put to the test right now.

If not he could be someone who has simply broken a law in the "others" community and just serving his time. Failing that, he could be someone from the flight that the others managed to capture on the first day. OR failing that he could be someone who somehow got to the island some other way.

Someone on another board suggested THEY were the commune drug people. How many of us regarded the commune drug people as nice folks at first but then wonderd just how nice they really were by the end of the episode ?

Murder has been a key theme all along and really came to the fore front when Jun shot that woman on the boat. This is defenitely a key theme on the island now.

AT least once or twice. But no way in hell am I going to go digging and find it! I had to laugh when cop kid told Locke he knew he wouldn't shoot him. The first thing I said was "Yeah, that's what that Udder broad said to Sun right before she got shot in the gut."
