So a friend of mine recommended that I read "Wizard's First Rule", and I'm kinda reticent about starting another "fantasy"
series.
Is it George RR Martin goodness, or more along the lines of that "Sword of Banana" (Terry Brooks) shit?
disclaimer: I'm still not a dork, I just want to read good books.

Yeah, I am almost done with Knife Of Dreams, and frankly want to kill everyone that isn't named Mat or Verin.

think of a really good insult, and I'm pretty sure that's sufficient).
KoD is great. And by great, I mean, not at all. I do find it interesting (and really odd) that dorky lit/movies generally has people losing hands, though. Star Wars, a Song of Ice and Fire, Wheel of Time... |

You should finish reading the book!! Not because it's good, but you've already suffered through enough that a little more won't hurt you.
