It certainly does not suck so maybe it does not need to have a thread here It's pretty much all about good feelings on this show. You have the hot Ty Pennington, a deserving family having a wonderful thing happening to them.. What's not to love?? I thought maybe I might be overlooking it. I love this show. I loved the reaction from the homeowner that was on tonight. She truly appreciated what they had done for her.

I figure they probably spend about $100K on each place...and to make such a big difference in people's lives is great. Especially when you compare it some a schmuck like Ray Romano who gets over a million per episode....

This is a family of 8 children who live in a 3 bedroom/1bath house. Mother died and a few months later so did the father so the oldest child quit school and is raising her sisters and brothers...

But let me just say, I found it a little weird that they were making a living space for daughter and daughter's boyfriend in the mother's house. Just a little weird to me. Maybe instead of a $12,000 ring, they could have helped him get a job (like the kid in the one episode who wanted a car) and put that money in a savings account for the baby as a college fund or something. I'm jus' sayin'.

We saw Ty a couple of years ago in our hometown at a women's expo. He's JUST as cute in person. I love how he mother hens all the little projects. And unlike the lazy dude on Monster House, who oversees all the workers, Ty seems to actually do some work, too.

It's funny, Ty gets such an attitude on Trading Spaces, but on his show he's sweet as can be. The best episode was the one with Sweet Alice, that was awesome how they helped the entire neighborhood. I have to admit, I like the families that have had natural disasters, etc. better than the ones that just don't have much money. I know, I know, that's mean and biased of me, but I can't help it. Regardless, I cry every episode.

Sounds like that was a good one. I also cry at the end of every episode. My son came inside last night right at the end when I was tearing up. Had to turn my head and clear my throat so he wouldn't see me. I hate being made fun of LOL.

Admittedly, I've never seen a full episode, but it seems rather pointless to me. If they are going to alter the existing house so... extremely... then why not just tear it down and start anew? Extreme makeovers of the human body are fine; a person can't be completely overhauled, only altered here and there. Unlike people, however, houses can be torn down. Heck, people can move to a new house if they don't like their current house. Why bother with the "extreme makeover"? I'm sick of home renovation shows like Trading Spaces and the likes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

A month or so ago, half of their house got burnt down. They were both dianosed with cancer and tons of other bad stuff have been happening to them. They have absolutely no money to rebuild their house. Does anyone know if you can nominate a family? I've checked out the application and it looks as though the family has to apply for it themselves.
