I decided it was finally time to upgrade her computer. The one she has, has a whopping 2GB hard drive on it. Yes, you heard that right. A 2 GB HARD DRIVE. You can't even rip a DVD install any new software on this kind of pc. It's ancient. So I went and found a decent one at Circuit City, for like $419. (she doesn't need a high end pc) The makers actually lose a bundle on these pc's, but make up for it, by installing 50 or more crappy demo apps on it, and make money from the statistical odds that most people will just cave and buy it. (I may have to format her pc with WinXP) This is my mother's day present. She better will love it.

"I tried pulling out the plug behind this monitor and it is very hard to get off. Did not want to keep yanking on it so did not get it off yet." (you know, the ones that have built in screws that you unscrew.....sigh) I think, no, I'm sure I'm going to start screaming any moment now.

Anything advanced (viruses, lost files/emails, advanced software installation) gets delegated to one of the kids. My mother uses the computer for only three things: online banking, checking email, and Spider Solitaire.

Her cell phone is 10 years old. She has a yearly plan and gets 500 minutes a year. She call me from time to time on it because she wants to use up her minutes (she lives in Florida, I'm in NY).

Everytime my husband goes to visit his mom he has to spend half his time there getting rid of all the crappy viruses and spyware that she picks up. She clicks on everything. Oh yeah and she likes forwarding awful chain letters and shit too.

I remember one tech support story, where a women asked about the cup holder. You know, the thingie that ejects, and has a nice spot where you can put your coffee?
