Not Simon Says. What Simon SHOULD HAVE Said. |
Lead | |
|
Simon is known for his bluntness and (partial) honesty, but even he misses things sometimes. We'd all like to be Simon once in a while, at least when
he's judging the show and cashing his paychecks. You'll have to work on the paycheck issue while you're off the thread, but here's your chance
at the first part. I will start things off:
"The viewers got it completely and utterly wrong. Jason and Brooke should be up there, not Syesha and Carly." |

"Manta-err, Fantasia, i've been making a terrible mistake all season. Quite frankly, you sound like Donald Duck repeatedly getting sodomized in the
ear. DIBOT FTW!"

Any one of Fantasia's performances (except "All My Life (Yeah Yeah Yeah)" where Simon finally called her out on it):
SIMON: Fahn-TAH-zee-uh, how many times can you insert "yeah yeah yeah" into a song without it being boring? I think you've just created a riddle! FANTASIA: Cho dunno clazz, SimonnnnnneeeyeeeahhhyeahYEAHHHHHHHH! |

After Mantasia finishes singing "Yeah Yeah Yeah"
Simon: It's nice to see that being a knocked up teenage slut got you this far but after that performance, you'd better get your fat ass off the stage. Mantasia: SHIMON! YOU DUNT KNOW CLASSHH??!?!?! *Flashes cooch* |

David, I've stopped caring about what your dad's going to do to my car. I'm sick of swallowing my own vomit so I can tell you how "amazing" your lung-cancer-patient voice sounds. |

This one is from Randy to Archuleta...
You know dawg, that really wasn't a hot one. I know your dad said he'd have my favourite burger joint closed down but I just have to say it. That was pitchy as hell. Cook's hot lava bomb is the one to beat. |

Second Season, Before The Wildcard Show | ||
|
"Nigel, I refuse to go along with this insane plan to add 4 girls to the show that we got rid of in the Hollywood Round. There are plenty of good singers
to choose from that the public's already seen. Instead of the people you're suggesting I think we should add Hadas, Equoia Coleman, Candice Coleman and
Juanita Barber* to the group." *a ridiculous choice, but then so was Caaaaaarmen.

What is the wildcard round?

What is the wildcard round? With the old semi finalists format there used to be a wildcard round. They had 32 people instead of 24, there were groups of 8 and the semis weren't divided by gender. One group of 8 would perform each week, 2 people from each group would be voted into the finals. Then they'd have a wildcard group at the end where people who didn't make it got to perform again and they had another chance to make the finals. The judges and the public would pick wildcards for the finals. |

That sounds a lot better than how it is set up now. I didn't start watching till season 5 so that explains why i didn't know what they were talking
about.

I think both formats have pros and cons.
With the old format it wasn't separated by gender so there was a chance to get the best 12 and not just the best 6 girls and best 6 guys. Also I kind of liked the wildcard round, in theory I like the idea of the judges putting a few people in the Top 12. It gives people who may not be fan favourites a chance to show what they can do and become fan favourites. The AI judges pretty much suck a making wildcard choices, but in other countries the wildcard round still exists and works well. One of the judge wildcard picks just won the most recent season of Australian Idol. She was overlooked by the public in favour of cute male contestants but the judges put her in the Top 12, she got in there, did her thing and won over the public and won. With the new format I like it for the most part because everyone has a chance to make it for 3 weeks. With the old format you could be in a group with two of the favourites and you were doomed. With everyone competing together it doesn't come down to how the groups were arranged, there is no stacked group or week group. What I don't like about the new format though is that you don't have to be the best to make it through. With the groups it was do or die for the most part. You had to deliver your best, you had one shot to earn that spot in the finals. With the new format you just have to be 3rd worst. You don't have to earn a spot, you can just get one by scrapping by for 3 weeks. Also a really good contestant who had 2 stellar showings could have one off week and lose that spot in the finals that they deserve over someone who was mediocre or 2 weeks and then was better than the good contestant 1 week. Their are pros and cons to everything though. |
