Is there a bag shortage? |

It seems now that when you buy groceries, the everso helpful staff don't want to bag anything larger than a jar of spaghetti sauce. Cans of formula, half
gallon of milk...am I supposed to carry this stuff in precarious armfuls from my car to my kitchen? I had to use my eyebrow yesterday at the cashier when they
kept trying to hand me stuff without it being bagged. I don't like to use the eyebrow before lunch, but I will if I have to.

Not here the dumb baggers use too many bags sticking 1-2 things in a bag, I am always rearranging mt stuff and telling them to keep the bags. I hate all those
bags at home. I feel guilty throwint them away, i am always giving them thrift stores and people having garage sales. I never get my big stuff in a bag, like
Toilet paper, laundry soap,ect...

Guess I keep hitting my T key missing Y & G, I am so sorry for my bad typing/spelling again, before anyone flames me. One day I may start proof reading
before I hit post, I doubt it though.

I think they do that because the bags are so flimsy. Anything that weighs more than a couple of ounces %*#!% them...and ends up in the parking lot with me
cussing like a sailor chasing after it.

paper bags if at all possible - otherwise the little cans of cat food roll from the back of the car to the front, inevitably ending up under the brake pedal

I've been to Bern, Switzerland, and it's the greenest place I've ever been to. People always carry their own shopping bags. No matter whether you're shopping for clothes or groceries, it's expected that you make an effort not to use the store's plastic bags. A lot of people carry around those wheely shopping carts. Oh, and on top of that, nearly everybody rides a bike or uses public transportation. The air is so damn pure and the water so crystal clear, it's sickening lol. |

If there were a bag shortage, I wouldn't have any trouble getting someone to nail me, Merk. Duh!

Here in Canookia, they're trying to reduce plastic bag usage by encouraging people to buy the cloth bags etc. Even one of the banks were giving them out
the other day, this bright green cloth bag made of recyclable fibres or something hippy. As if I would use something that doesn't match my shoes.

I use reusable bags about 75% of the time
some of them aren't too bad, like the Loblaws one.. made of recycled pop bottles

When I shopped at Costco they used to go out of their way to pack your groceries in boxes to make it easier to transport to and from your car. Since we moved
and there are no Costcos here we now shope at Sam's. They suck about the boxes. Sometimes they'll have boxes in a large bin but it's up to you to
fish around the bin for the correct one and most them are so small as to render them useless.

I handed a reusable bag to the grocery clerk last night, and the dumb bitch put my stuff in a plastic bag, then into my nice cloth bag.
The stupidity just flows like wine. |

I love the Central Market paper bags with handles. I find that they can always hold a lot more stuff and are easier to carry. I wish other stores would use
them.

WFM uses that type
and I need at least 3 paper bags every two weeks to put my recycled newspapers, magazines and catalogs in - the city insists that they're in brown paper bags when you put them out even though they're in a bit. I guess it's so they can pull them out to get to the plastic and cans easier |

merkyl hasn't been listening to ashley the tree hugger! I share a small car with the mister and ride my bike to the store most of the time. with my
backpack full and one of those on a handlebar, I can buy a fair amount- it's a ten minute ride, max.
cbr, I need about 5 plastic bags a week for kitty litter cleanup myself- otherwise it's all reuseable for us. piepie, you can find those at wherever you buy PC products out west, most likely. |
