Yup, I made the cut. I'm a 26 year old guy from California trying to find himself, and I was recruited by a casting agent while I was hanging out in LA.
I have 5 part-time jobs (bartender, model, actor for commercials, waiter, and fitness club promoter). I'm really hot. I'm pretty buff-looking, but I
suck at anything physical. I also spent some time working in retail. I went to some California college of 150,000 people, and I really enjoy clubbing,
anything outdoorsy, driving my hybrid, eating expensive health shit food, doing yoga, updating my myspa.ce page, and talking about how little money I have.
Here I come, S18. |

hahaha. there are rumors floating around some of the boards saying that season 18 will be a "second chance" season, where people who were voted off
anywhere between 1st and 4th will get a second chance to play the game. it would be interesting, but it's irritating seeing that we don't know how many
more application seasons there will be.

I am not entertained at all by any season that takes spots away from future contestants (ie, me). Sakes alive, there are 305 million people in the USA. Why
must we see the same few over and over again. It's insulting to the viewers and to the wanna bees.
They've had their chance to be on the show. Move on. |

i'm not saying there's something really credible about this--i clearly stated it was a rumor on some of the boards. some random poster--someone who
made an account just to post this on survivor wiki wrote--- "i'm giving everyone who was voted off first, a second chance to play the game." it
was completely random and out of the blue, and from there, more and more people seemed to be posting about it.

It's most likely not true. It's just an idea that the poster(s) wanted for S18 (which for me I don't want. We just saw Micronesia, let's get
some new contestants in.)

finals should be over for s18. if they didn't like the group they had, they'll be doing a few last minute recruiting chores. Lynne Spillman has said
that they recruit up until the last minute. So even if you were to make it through the finals, you might always be replaced by a tall, European model named
Francois. I honestly think if I were to ever make it through finals, and then get replaced by someone--I might actually kill myself.

and applications for Survivor 19 will be up sometime around the Gabon finale. There are always 2 application seasons per year. The even seasons apply in the
Summer, the odd seasons apply in the winter. Survivor 19 applications will probably be due around the 25th of January--with call backs not occuring until
around March. The time you wait for a call is longer for the odd seasons than the even seasons--not sure why--but the even seasons seem to start calls around a
week or two after deadline. Leslie, from S15 China, didn't get a call until March 8th.

I heard someone mention that they sent in an application for each of the cities on the list, can you do that? Would help/hurt your chances or no effect? Also
it sounded like for the S18 interviews that they didn't have the city interviews they just emailed and called. Then went to finals in LA. I'm not sure
if that is good or bad. Some people can really sell themselves in person, but email... I don't know.

the last time they did the interviews in those satellite cities was for season 13, cook islands. since then--they just do a round of calls, then another call,
and then they'll tell you if you made the finals. for some people they'll do a pre-call, where they basically verify that the information you put on
your application is really something you would do, i.e. saying you hate white people--if they ask what you'd do if you were on a team with all white people
and you say "i'd be just fine" they're gonna through your application in the garbage. check out pygmyisland.com for more casting information.

i've never gotten a call. it sucks to know that all these people apply, and the casting broads (20-something LA girls) go online to myspace and youtube to
find people rather than look at applications. so you wind up with a cast that has never seen the show, and who never even considered applying---but they figure
it'll help make them popular and famous. and the casting girls can get a dinner and a hook up out of it. dumb fucking broads.

Awww, birdseye, I actually enjoy reading your posts because I have the exact same (stupid, obsessive, useless? *ugh*) drive and desire to play.this.game ;-) But the fact is other than applying and staying fit and ready for a call, there is a point where we have to accept that this endeavour is out of our hands, and I have to agree with WICT that unless your mindset is a little dramatized, dissing the CA's (who may well be sweet young things looking for an easy way to find the next reality star) is most likely counterproductive - How is that for a convoluted post? ;-) I wish you and all of us who would love to play this game the very best of luck - ;-) spqsc |
