Current BB9 houseguest, Natalie Cunial, can be best described as a mild dysfunctional paranoid schizophrenic with obsessive/compulsive disorder and delusions of grandeur.
Symptom Analysis:
- Eyes dart quickly back and forth which indicates feelings of paranoia mixed with persecution and entrapment. Natalie lives in fear of not measuring up to her housemates and also believes that if left unchecked they will conspire against her, so she must be continuously observant of her surroundings or she will be eaten like a small animal by the larger predators.
- Intense staring into other houseguests eyes when talking or being talked to is a form of control on Natalie's part. By keeping eye contact with other houseguests she sends a subliminal signal that she's interested in what they say, yet also is used as a form of subliminal intimidation against them. Natalie's prolonged periods of staring at other houseguests faces signify her attempt to analyze the feelings of others, adapt to them and take on their feelings as her own to make a personal connection (i.e., Ryan is feeling bloated and has a sick look on his face and suddenly Natalie will adapt and thus become sick (or sicker) than Ryan to reach a personal level with him.)
- Religious fervor: The protective blanket of religion is utilized by natalie in a number of ways, the first being a protective cover for her sins both outside (and inside) of the BB house, and a form of connecting with others on a personal level. When Natalie first entered the BB house she was not the religious fanatic she is now. Natalie had an obsessive/compulsive focus on her partner Matt, which took most, if not all of her attention. Once her obsession was removed from the house Natalie adapted to her surroundings again when she noticed others reading the Bible. In turn, Natalie took on their religious beliefs and began to read the Bible as well. Natalie also noticed that by using the belief system of the others she could also control situations that made her feel uncomfortable. People against her are now "evil do-ers", and those who she is aligned with are now "good people" who she could bond with as a form of self preservation. Once that bond is broken, and eventually it will be in the coming weeks, they will then be relegated to "evil-do'ers".
- The chameleon syndrome: Usually those who believe themselves to be inferior to others in critical situations will attempt to become those who are superior to them. Natalie has noticed the motherly attention given to the guinea pigs by Sharon and has taken on that persona. Natalie now feeds the them and even talks to them in the high-pitched vocal range than Sharon uses. In effect, she becomes Sharon to the guinea pigs. When Natalie is around Sheila she takes on Sheila speech patterns to a small degree and utlilizes her phrases when they communicate.
- Delusions of Grandeur: As the houseguests have dwindle down Natalie has convinced herself that she is invincible in the game since she still remains. She
analyzes ordinary situations and inanimate obects as both signs and proof that the BB game was designed for her to win. Everything... from the color of the
carpet to the amount of teacups in a cabinet is a symbol to her that she has been pre-ordained to become the winner of BB9. However, anything or anyone that
negatively challenges her god-like delusion will be deemed "evil" and summarily ignored, or be reworked and forced to fit the world of delusion she
has built for herself.
Summary:
Natalie Cunial is a twig waiting to snap, and the situation can be potentially dangerous to those around her when the world she constructed crumbles away to
reveal the horrid truth.
