Episodes 1 and 2, "Rose", and "End of the World" aired together on March 17, and may be rebroadcast this week.
For me, it was my first "Who" fix in twenty years, and it was a delightful return to the series I loved as a kid in the 70*s and 80*s.
I realize that many lucky Brits and Canadians have already seen the series, and upcoming shows, so the subject of spoilers is open to question unless we hear something definite from Okie or another admin, but I think that a good rule of thumb would be to be considerate of those who are seeing these episodes for the first time, and only referring to future events in very general terms.
That said, let*s dish about Doc Nine!
I absolutely love him, myself. He*s got the same sardonic sense of humor as the Doctors i grew up with as a kid, so it was very easy for me to accept him as the new Doctor. I laughed out loud when he opened the door of the TARDIS and said, "Oh, did I mention we can travel through time?"
Second funniest line of the night was when he was reading the gossip mag --"That won*t last. He*s gay, and she*s an alien." TomKat, anyone?
Overall, I think that the series is very true to the original shows, complete with the campy special effects and weird-looking aliens. It*s like coming home. :-)
