Before anyone gets too excited, my washing machine crapped out. Suggestions welcomed!

I recently got a new front loader. It is fine, but my other one was fine too. I guess this one is better for the environment though. I think it holds
slightly more clothes. I don't see that it does a better or worse job cleaning the clothes.

I have a front loader, but sometimes I have problems if I add just a bit too much detergent. It gives an error code and I have to wait to run the wash. I use
low sudsing too. Usually it's my son filling the dispenser up to the line.. I gotta talk to him about that.

Front. It washes with half the water and is much sleeker/modern.

Wash on rocks by the river. The erosion will be punishment enough.

We bought the cheapest washer and dryer available when me moved into our house.
The clean our clothes, look ugly, and sit in a closet where we never see them. It's the only way to go. |

One time they played with some rear loading washers, but those didn't sell so well.

Just got a new washer/dryer set, can't say enough about it.
Whirlpool Cabrio it has the same features, seize, et al as the front loader set, but was $300 or more cheaper. (11 cycles, super-capacity, stainless tub, blah, blah, blah) It's high-efficiency and uses that type detergent, same cost, less product in use. the floating tub is awesome, nothing ever creeps to one side or the other. there wasn't 1 thing offered by the front load set that this didn't have. Just a good set I'd highly recommend. |

I wish I had a front loader. I have to use a grabby tool to empty my giant top loader. I have short arms and can't reach the tub bottom. I have trouble
getting those last few socks, shirts, washcloths, whatever...

Emptying out the lint filter is not "rebuilding", sorry Weems.

Darlin, I never thought of that. It is a reach with that huge tub.

I've read that the front loaders have issues of mold/mildew growing in the gasket for the door. Anyone else hear about or experience this?

I've read that the front loaders have issues of mold/mildew growing in the gasket for the door. Anyone else hear about or experience this? After 4 years our Kenmore Elite front loading washer stopped draining, it was because a built in trap was clogged with the crap little kids keep in their pockets, like rubber bands and coins, in addition to lint, etc. I googled the problem and fixed it myself. While googling the problem I read that people were smelling mildew for similar reasons, the trap clogs a little after years of use and water doesn't drain. It looks like the trap needs to be cleaned every couple of years. Unfortunately the trap wasn't designed to be reached easily. It's not a hard job, but requires a few tools to get the job done. I still like the washer and dryer pair. The dryer keeps up with the washer, for one thing. A front loading washer is also easier on clothes, and our clothes seem to be staying in better shape for a longer period of time. |

I think the front loader would be more accessable for pooping.
