Woman dies in wreck, man in fire
A one-vehicle traffic accident claimed the life of 25-year-old Ashley Perrin of Ponchatoula Tuesday afternoon, and an elderly Independence man died in a
fire that destroyed his house over the weekend.
Authorities reported the two accidental deaths Tuesday.
Perrin, of 525 Kathleen St., died on the Interstate 55 Southeast Service Road in Ponchatoula. Police Lt. Raymond Mauterer said the accident happened about 2:30
p.m.
She was alone in a mini van when it hit the guard rail while traveling north on the service road. The roadway showed no skid marks, Mauterer said, and the
cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
She was ejected from the vehicle and was dead at the scene, Mauterer said.
