I've done it just once since the last one came out and it was chronological. It isn't quite as different a perspective as you might think, though since
you're watching the good ones last you do end up in a good mood. I would definitely not recommend chronological for new viewers, as the prequels ruin the
mystique of the originals.

Just see Empire Strikes Back, the others are a waste of time.

I just saw a Youtube of Bea Arthur singing with the Cantina from the Christmas Special. God the 70's were a bad bad time.

As far as I'm concerned they're 2 different trilogies. It's way too hard to go from III to IV and have it all mesh together...the differences in
acting, writing...special effects, time span...it just doesn't work together. They're 2 different stories related to the same characters. That's
all.
I still stick to the philosophy that George Lucas should have done something completely off-the-wall and done the prequels using the same special effects techniques and camera equipment as the old ones...it would have been much cooler and worked much better. |

Go with the flow like the rest of the world. Watch the originals first.

Watch Empire, then Clones, then New Hope, then Spaceballs, then Sith, then Jedi, then take a break and watch Dumb and Dumber, then Phantom.
No real reason. Just to keep it real. |

Oh, My LOTR viewing order is:
1. Watch the cool opening scene. 2. Watch all the Moria shit. 3. Watch Boromir die. 4. Watch Gimli mack on Eowyn. 5. Watch all the Helm's Deep shit 6. Watch all of ROTK except for scenes where Frodo is involved. eta I'm like that guy on Dead Poet's Society who showed his individuality by not bothering to march. |
