A BIG mystery would be "How did Locke end up in the wheelchair?" or "How did Black Rock end up on the island?" or "Where are Michael & Walt?". Those would be big. This "choice" is just...well, it's a stupid love triangle and if the producers wanted to change it mid-season, hell, soap operas and many other prime time shows have done so. I pray this was TV Guide's description and not the producers.

And the producers have openly said they are focusing on relationships this season, not mythology. So expect more of this type of answer. I guess they're looking for Lost Anatonomy.

The story is too convoluted for any new watchers to come in(unless they buy and watch the full season DVD's), and fans will continue to bail for various reasons which will eventually lead to the tipping point where Lost is no longer viable for ABC.

There's no comparison. Now, you COULD compare Season 1 of LOST to Season 1 (so far) of Heroes and I think Heroes is doing comparable to what LOST was at the same point and time if not a little less.

For all we know, it could tank next season, and honestly, I don't think Lost is that bad to begin with... More characters could use a little bit more screen time, yes, but other than that, I can't pick out anything that's really wrong with it. Heroes is fresh and new. Of course it seems more interesting now. Eventually, it is GOING to have its lowpoints. EVERY show does.

I think it's nothing like the 1st and partial 2nd season and has taken a turn Suckville that can't be fixed. OTOH, most shows go that way eventually, I just wanted more from Lost.

People tune in to find the answer. 3 seasons later, less than a quarter of all the questions have been answered. Heroes - when people started watching, the story line was great; questions were getting answered on each episode, and yet people tuned in because the story line gets better and better without convoluting the story itself. Compare the first 5 episodes of LOST and HEROES, and tell me how much questions have been answered. If LOST writers did not stretch the story line, I wonder if people would be that interested.
