As bored male pointed out, Mr. Jack Shepherd forced a poor young woman to give him a tattoo against her will. This is outrageous! Jack is a dirty nasty tattoo rapist and the Others should have left him to rot behind those bars. Who's with me?

That was crazy. He slammed her against a wall and demanded she mark him. Some guys get that way about sex. Jack gets that way about body ink. He thought the tattoo would say "Brave leader" but really it said "Pinky Dick". As Jack would say "That's what it says, not what it means."
Maybe his ass-kicking at the end was because she told her friends he was a tattoo rapist who violently forced her to ink him. Makes more sense than the idea that he was an outsider who shouldn't be allowed to have a tattoo. |

Well we know based on Juliette knowing about Sarah earlier this season that the Others have extensive research on Lostie' past. So that's probably how the sheriff woman knew what it meant. This has little to do with the thread, but I have no desire to start a sheriff woman thread.

It was her fault for flaunting her tattoos in the first place.
Not that Jack wasn't an asshole about it, of course. He's the kind of guy who'd drug a woman and then take advantage of her inking skills. |
