I posted this thought a while back in the big thread but it's buried deep now.
The '?' will probably be the Other's hangout. Remember when Eko wanted to bring Sawyer back through the center of the island but Anna Lucia was against it? No doubt they knew something was up with the center of the island. They thought it would be much safer to follow the shore all the way around the island than travel through the middle of it. That's my best guess anyway. |

These things on the Healer's wall had me thinking of the Blast Door Map as well :

Yanno, they could be scree. I was trying to recall where/when I grabbed them.
Ok.. I checked the date I grabbed them. It was 10/21/05. That was 2 days after season 2's episode 5. (...And Found) I do think we had learned about the arrow hatch by that point... maybe I should delete them? |

Well, we pretty much knew it had to be a fake at the time (two station 5's, for example). But now that we know The Staff's logo isn't present, it's gotta be.
ETA: No prob, JPG. We also have an idea what The Flame's logo should look like, thanks to the map. |

The Pearl.
We see it mentioned on the blast door map at about 4 O'clock, so we still haven't seen the center ? station. I'm also wondering where on the map (if it's there at all) the "hillbilly hatch" is. I'm also scrutinizing the map to see if I can find any references to that 4 toed statue. |

There are very good copies of Rousseau's maps at Lost Links.
Can't hotlink to them, but they're worth the look. They state that they got them from LOST-MEDIA.COM, LOST-TV.COM & OCEANIC-AIR.COM. Guess we could go find one of those. There's also an interesting graphic of the island available at The Changing Hatch page.

Ok.. found some of Danielle's maps at Lost-Media from their screen caps of the Season 1, "Special" episode 14. I haven't looked through all the episode's screen caps. Perhaps someone else will find some better ones. They're not as good as the ones at Lost-links and I don't want to post the larger versions because they'd mess with the margins, so I'll just provide links to those.

I assume Locke and Eko managed to head to the "?" correctly. And since the mapmakers were also not sure "IV" was The Pearl (or even a Station), I think "?" = "The Pearl".
Also, there's a line connecting "?" with "The Swan"... wiring for the video feeds? No line connecting "IV?" with "The Swan." |

I think I just....
yeah.... I just had an idea. We now know what happens when the countdown clock reaches zero. During "Lockedown" we assumed FauxHenry Gale didn't enter the code in time thus triggering the black-light to come on and reveal the map. We can now assume that FauxHenry did enter the code, but even more importantly did FauxHenry do something to trigger the black light so that Locke could actually see the map? |

Wasn't Desmond shocked when Locke told him he had found another hatch? It seems kind of odd once we found out he helped Kelvin paint the map in the first place.

What I want to know is was how Locke's map that he sent up the vaccuum whachmacallit was just sitting atop the pile of cannisters Jack and Co. stumbled upon. Is there no wind on the island??
