This isn't really an official "betting game". Just a way for us to say "I called it!" once the show is finally over.
As much as we all love LOST, we all know that eventually the show is going to end, and that eventually some characters are going to die. What we don't know, however, is who is going to survive the entire course of the series, and who's carcass is going to lay rotting on the island for all eternity (as far as we know).
So, based on pure speculation (NO SPOILERS!!) I am curious to know that as of right now, who do you think is going to survive the series? Feel free to make odds for each castaway still alive (as far as we know...)
Jack--0.6 probability he'll die. I personally think he's going to die in the finale or near the finale of the series. Aside from being a good way to make sure no spin-offs will ever occur, killing Jack will give some completeness to the storyline. He'll probably die as a martyr for the others, or something like that.
Kate--0.2 probability she'll die. I don't think she's going to, honestly. Much of what we've seen on the show has involved her always running and always getting away. If she were to die, it would in essence be destroying her character.
Sawyer--0.4 probability he'll die. Character-wise, he seems like he'd survive, as he's a conman and all...but there is a great likelihood that he'd piss somebody off (namely an Other) and get killed in the process, leading to some whole hullaballoo surrounding Kate. So, it's possible in my mind.
Charlie--0.9 probability he'll die. Aside from the whole "it's destined to happen" thing, his character is really close to dead plotwise. He's not addicted to drugs anymore, and the little skirmishes with Claire are starting to get old. Besides, Charlie dying would give room for Claire's character to be shaped more...so I think the hobbit will end up getting killed somehow.
Jin--0.1 probability he'll die. I don't see it happening, as his relationship with Sun is so close...the two are almost a unit at this point, so if one were to die, it would leave them wondering what to do with the other. This was the problem they had with Shannon and Boone, so I doubt they'd repeat the same mistake.
Sun--0.00001 probability she'll die. Why so low? Because she's a major attraction for the Korean fan-base...and I don't think they'd want to see her die. Plus, she's pregnant, and having a pregnant woman die on primetime TV is very taboo.
Hurley--0.5 probability he'll die. I don't see any reason why he would, but I also don't see any reason why he wouldn't. 24 killed off the loveable and equally galangular Edgar...so I don't see why LOST couldn't kill off Hurley too.
Locke--0.6 probability he'll die. I envision him doing something really stupid in an effort to protect the island, make a sacrifice for the island, or something like that. But even if he weren't going to die, I'd expect him to choose to live out his life on the island.
Sayid--0.3 probability he'll die. Sayid is a well liked character, and part of his story arc involves going back to Nadia at the end of the series. It's what got him to the island, and I'd expect it to be what he returns to after the island. Yes, there was the fling with Shannon, but I doubt that would destroy his desire to find Nadia and at least come to terms with her.
Desmond--0.45 probability he'll die. I don't think he will...but at the same time, we were told there was no way he'd ever see Penelope again. That implies death...but I'd imagine the producers would want him to defy fate or something like that. That, or the old lady lied.
Nikki and Paolo-- 1.0 probability they'll die. Regretfully...but since fans hate them so much, and since they've served so little purpose in the storyline, I'm expecting them to die by the end of the season.
Juliet--0.3 probability she'll die. If she was going to die, I'd think they'd have done it already. But they haven't. That tells me that she's going to live through to the end of the series.
Ben--0.8 probability he'll die. The overall story of the show is now shaping up to be good versus evil, or more specifically, The Others versus The Losties. Good generally conquers over evil in the world of television, and that would suggest some sort of submission or death on Benry's part.
Danielle--0.1 probability she'll die. Danielle is part of the island really. In my mind, if they were to kill Danielle, they might as well blow up the island too.
There are more characters of course...Rose, Bernard, Alex, and even Michael and Walt for that matter (we don't know what's happened to them, but as far as we know, they're alive!). Feel free to make bets on any of them!
