I rewatched the first four episodes of Australia and they are so boring. They aren't showing enough of the personalities and its not even better than the first four episodes of Africa.
The editing sure is better on newer seasons. In my opinion, Kel and Kimmi received the strongest edits in the first four episodes. |

The editing in Australia offended me, but Vanuatu had me in tears.

Except for the first and two most current seasons (S1, S12 and S13), I watched the series (S2 to S11) in a random and almost backward order. I definitely feel that the newer seasons are more entertaining and have better editing than the older seasons. But I think most people have gotten tired of the Survivor concept and just reality TV shows in general.

Aren't showing enough personalities??
The first four seasons are the only seasons where I feel like I actually got properly introduced to EVERY person on the show. I'd sooner take the story-driven early Survivor seasons than the strategy-driven newer seasons anyday. The last time I felt like all the players were a valuable asset to the show was All-Stars (and even Tina's appearance was kinda iffy in that first episode). |

I think survivor0 meant he would sooner take the character-driven early Survivor seasons than the story-driven newer seasons anyday. The older seasons are actually character-driven or drama-centric. The newer seasons are story-driven or arc-centric. Those are two different concepts.

I STRONGLY disagree that people are tired of the Survivor concept...in fact I wish they'd go back to the simpler, sans hidden idol, sans exile island, etc...sort of game, but anywho..
I don't think they've changed the way they edit, it's that the GAME has changed... They HAD to film the show as a character-driven soap opera the first few times around because that's what footage they HAD. Now, people seem to go in to the game playing a much more outright, strategical game, for the most part. So of course the editing would be different 12 seasons later from Borneo. They only showed Rich scheming and plotting because he's the ONLY one who did...not because they cared so much about Jenna Lewis' character that they edited her differently. Nowadays, there are a lot more people actually playing..from day 1. And I think the seasons are just as entertaining now as they were in the beginning.But not more or less so. |

Who's celebration was more colorful, Colby when he won his first IC (the fire building one) or Chris when he won the final 4 IC (the vertical maze one)?

Also, near the end, the contestants on Australia whined about food a lot. Did the food situation improve on future Survivors?

Kimmi really did have one of the strongest personalities to date, even if most people didn't like her, her personality could, in no way, be edited out...she always had an opinion, and that's why I liked her!

Obviously she would vote for Colby but why was she OFFENDED by Jerri in the Outback anyways? Isn't she supposed to get along with everybody and not be annoyed? I was confused when she was OFFENDED by Jerri.

I thought the Nick and Amber boot episodes were better than any of the Jerri drama episodes. The lack of food and flood situations were more over the top than Jerri.
The F5 to the end were more boring than typical episodes of Survivor probably but they fit in context of the show of it being the 2nd season instead of it being a later season with much more strategy. Elisabeth came across as a bitch at times with her mean spiritness towards Keith when saying a negative comment about him again in the F4 TC when voting. |

I actually enjoyed watching Kimmi. I think camping with her would be torture, but she was funny on the show.
