Am I the only one getting these calls every fucking day? Sometimes it's just once a day then other times it's like 5 a day. The calls always come from an 800 number and when you pick up the phone they hang the fuck up. What's up with that shit? At first I thought it was my whore niece screwing with me until I saw my caller ID.

It is an automatic dialer (are you behind in your credit card payments?). After a certain number of rings, or if the dialer thinks you are an answering
machine, it will hang up on you. Sometimes it is necessary to hold for a few seconds while a human is put on the phone. Just call the 800 number back and see
who is trying to reach you.

I like coming home to answering machine messages that include phrases like: If you'd like to be taken off our call list, press 2 now.
Stupid answering machine just passively sits there, not pressin' nuttin'. |

They also have machines that call numbers just to see when you pick up so it knows what time you're home.
