S16 HalfASS - Ep 11 Challenge (not the auction)
|
Fix the title! This is some challenge different than the one that looks like an auction, presumably from the upcoming episode.
I see bags of disks (orange, blue, ?red), a wheeled tripod thing (red),
balancing on planks, and a squat thrust. (James is on a green plank but headed toward a yellow deck. Behind him is are orange planks heading toward an orange deck. But those planks doesn't seem to be in the same position on the knots as James' one. Is each player building their own bridge?) There are colored things laying on a merge green mat in the background, and orange paddle-step things after the orange deck.
These shots are also in promos for this episode. Maybe they are from this challenge, or maybe they are leftover from something earlier.

Looks like a Jason-type challenge
|
Looks like a balancing and running across lily pad-type challenge that Jason would win. And does anybody, besides ME, notice how many pix of ERIC there are in
ALLL the different promos this week? Applying the Ole OutFrontGirl theory, that would mean ERIC is the one who is blindsided this week...

It looks to be the typical challenge where someone(s) is/are eliminated at different stations. Looks like James makes it the furthest along with someone else
maybe?

I think that Jason pic is from the challenge earlier in the season where they ran across lily pads....his back pocket isn't torn.
This challenge is the move-the-boards-to-make-your-steps one. The orange team person has apparently already made it across since their boards are both there and there's no one in sight. Looks like James makes a big leap and sends the green board flying. Wonder what that does for the person to go after him.... |

If there were a green team and an orange team, then there would have to be a purple team, too, right? Have they ever done an immunity challenge that started
with teams, then the winners had to compete amongst themselves for individual immunity?
I can't figure exactly how it would work, but I think it would be interesting if the boards were an individual challenge, but with ad hoc teams. Like, no one person had enough boards to get across by themselves. |

this would be an interesting challenge to watch. This challenge is all about balance and endurance. If Ozzy was still here, he would win it, but im thinking
someone who has good balance would win (Jason, a female)

Damn! Ozzy could win this one easily...

Damn! Ozzy could win this one easily...If he felt like it. I'm sorry, but he deserved what he got for dropping out of the challenge last week. I couldn't believe how quickly he gave up for donuts. Amanda hung in there for a long time. DIdn't she do the same thing in China when everyone else in her group gave up for food? True game players always play, they don't give up immunity even if they think they are safe. |

Thank you for the vid-caps, birdlady...I just seen an commercial on CBS right before CSI started, Something about, "Welcome to Cut-Throat Island"
Survivor, all new Thursday...But anyway,...I think that you are right about the Build your own steps thing...And I do wonder how that will affect James'
team, now that he has knocked off one of his steps?

Don't be so hard on him. He said in an interview that he had bad shoulders and was gonna dump the paint whether he got anything or not. So he chose to get something out of it, too. |

exactly, I do not think that I could have held one arm up in the air for 6 hours or so...

Jason seems like an obvious winner. Maybe Erik or Parvati.

Amanda hung in there for a long time. DIdn't she do the same thing in China when everyone else in her group gave up for food?Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. Amanda was probably as safe as anyone out there last week. From her allies, Cirie didn't try, James blew it, and Ozzy was long gone by the time she got ready to quit. I don't think she intentionally was the only one to bother to compete in China, I think she was more than a little annoyed at her alliance mates there, so it was especially interesting to me that she still worked really hard to keep Jason from getting immunity. (And btw, I don't know what Erik was thinking. Surely he knew if Jason won he could well be toast? Maybe he doesn't want to be seen as any sort of threat, but he didn't even make a pretense of trying.) (It's also interesting that apparently Amanda really truly dropped out so she could dart off into the woods. Would you pee on national television for a million dollars? Lots of people would. We've already even seen it on Survivor with "Quick! I need someone to pee on my foot" which was sorta odd, but all in all I think positive for those players' images.) Anyways, speaking of China, remember they had several LONG individual immunities? That one where they dragged back and forth through the mud, and also the one where they had to build the little bridge and then the wall? They were later in the game than we are here, but I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that again. This challenge could have a lot more elements than the bridge. |

Martrae wrote: Here's what Ozzy said: Reality TV World: Since you always seemed to be competitive during the all the challenges and you had just feasted during
your Reward, why were you so quick to step down during the Immunity Challenge?
I've always loved Amanda all throughout. So her hanging around for as long as she can, and not exchanging anything for food like in China is so great
on her.

O.K. Apologies for being hard on Ozzy. I should remember that editing is involved here and they have probably worked overtime to hype up the entitlement and
arrogance and haven't shown the other side of his character. I suppose he also thought that since he had the HII ... <snarkiness>oh but then he
didnt' bring it to TC. </snarkiness>
I think Erik gave up because he thinks he's in with Ozzy's alliance so this week should be interesting. Wonder if he also thinks he has a solid alliance with Alexis and Natalie? I also wonder just who knows about the Parvati/Alexis/Natalie/kind of Amanda alliance? Cerie suspects, James I think suspects but doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. Don't know if Jason and Erik do or not. |

Of course Ozzy would say that after giving up. He has way too much of an ego to say he gave up for food. So, he blamed it on his shoulders.

Whatever Ozzy said about his shoulder about the challenge on why he gave up, if it's the truth or just his ego, it's not in our control anymore.

CBS press photo
James has two green boards at this point. He has his regular merge buff, but doesn't appear to have any other sort of team identifier. In the background are hanging bags of light blue and of orange ?disks. There are two other vertical poles, which might have held hanging bags of other colors, or perhaps still do hold them, just high out of reach. There's only one red wheel on the side of the little platform. A crank? Another wheel still to come? There might be something yellow on the deck behind James - another board? There might be something red or orange flat on the little stool behind James.

I find it interesting that all the IC photos are James.

Out Front Girl Theory still in play...
|
The OutFrontGirl Theory of old is still in play, methinks...This theory named at SBlows for one of its' legendary posters is that the current bootee is
pictured prominently in the week's promos, but not pictured or depicted as the one in danger...Whomever is just sort of THERE...As James' is in all
these IC photos. Also we do have Jason(tiptoeing through a lily pad-like water challenge) and Eric (swimming furiously). These are part of their title
sequences and may not be from this episode. Then again they very well may be....But James' definately IS...
James is figured prominently in the everything this week. Uh-oh.... But he could be the decoy boot, or according to the OFG theory the REAL go-ee |
