If one had watched Survivor in the past, it would probably be reasonable to expect some variation in challenges. An extremely physical challenge might be followed by a challenge more about agility or spatial skills. Having the problem solvers also drag the heavy stone was a little twist. I do wish they showed us more about the way the teams make challenge decisions. (Like, did they know the women would go an extra time before they chose their competitors?)

In the fireworks challenge, the pairs have to be able to work together, and it must take some amount of arm strength to be able to control the chop sticks? Courtney seems to have no strength at all. (Is there a rule that each person has to hold one chopstick? Could you organize yourself so that one person was mostly the holder of both sticks, and the other person sorta steered?)

Didn't Probst say pregame that one of the tribes doesn't feed their kidnap victim until they reveal information? This week and week six should be the only kidnappings left, with week five the switch and week seven the merge. And presumably whoever wins the reward will end up with a big pile of fish. Which tribe would be hardnosed enough to do this? I'm thinking the non-Christian one.

Well, I still can't tell a thing from the vidcaps of the fireworks going off, so I've been trying to think about the kidnapping.

If Fei Long wins the challenge:
- If there is a Todd-Leslie-Jaime-Erik-Sherea cross-tribe understanding, Todd would love to have one of them come give him another clue.
- However, Aaron no way no how wants one of the christian conspirators roaming around his camp. Probably Jean-Robert and James don't either.
- Dave is crazy, and there are already enough crazy males at Fei Long. Leslie probably reported he's in a leadership role, so you wouldn't want that person spying. He's strong (compare to other Zhan Hu), so don't want to give him a chance to rest and eat up before the immunity challenge.
- Frosti similarly you wouldn't want to strengthen, and he looks like an individual immunity threat so you wouldn't so much want him involved with a un-HII, too.
- Kidnap Peih-Gee.

If Peih-Gee is kidnapped:
- Courtney is clearly the weakest Fei Long, so it could hamper them if she has immunity.
- If Peih-Gee is part of the Todd-Leslie-Jaime-Erik-Sherea alliance, she could reconnect it with Todd.
- However, even if she is part of that group, she must know she is outside the Jaime-Erik-Sherea core. They could take her deeper into the game, but not to the end. Denise is another obviously weak in challenges Fei Long, and not connected to Leslie.
- Peih-Gee would feel the most natural affinity for Amanda and Aaron?
