If you could design your kitchen from the ground up, what would it look like? Contemporary, Tuscan, sleekly modern, or theme-inspired? Professional appliances
or unique finishes? Special backsplash? What kind of flooring? What color cabinets and what kind of countertop?

i don't really care so much about the kitchen as opposed to the frau that's making my dinner

Slate flooring in odd shapes, not any of that square shit. Oak or maybe a little bit darker honey colored cabinets. Granite countertops in a brown/back mix.
That imprinted tin for the back splash. Stainless appliances, one of those great big professional style stoves with 8 burners like my mom has.

I love it Annie, we're putting installing it in our kitchen too hopefully over the winter after we finish drywalling it. I saw it in home depot for like
$20 for an 18x36 square. I thought that was a great price.
TC, yeah that's kinda odd. I'm not sure I'd want diamond plate in my kitchen. but hey... |

I saw one like that on TV TC, they used a car hood as a vent top over the stove, and had a water hose like a farage on the side to fill pots.

That's that pattern I have in the antique satin finish~ the 6" tiles made for very little waste
Its really easy to maintain and the easiest thing I've ever installed. Just apply liquid nails to the back of the tiles, set and use finishing nails |

^ yeah that. I've been wondering if I should go with a plainer type pattern with less design in it because I was worried...

I'd just want a plain old kitchen. This general idea:
Keep in mind I live in an old house. I like to let the style of the house set the tone. Simple but more modern would be fine too. - NO stainless steel - NO tumbled marble tile nightmare all over the place - NO "themes" of any sort - NO builder-style shit basically I want nothing that all the idiots in home shows ooh and aah over. |

I'm hoping it would be ok. Mr. beep and I were talking about it a few weeks ago and at least in our house, it would just be a backsplash. we don't even
have anything back there right now and nothing splatters up where it would be

Ahhh...I thought you meant between the tiles. I haven't had any problem removing grease at all, but I've only had them up about 5 weeks.
Back splash and under the cabinets along that wall only. The area is about 10'x 18"....except where the actual stove is. I didn't want to wrap them around to the other cabinets because I thought it would be overkill. |

Nice! The pricing looks about the same there as I have been finind in the Lowes/Home Depot type places. My friend just did that silverish backsplash in her kitchen. She does have a nice kitchen with a brand new coffee counter area. So she hates it and already wants it down. I'll ask her for pics. I don't like it much either, but I told her I did. |
