Speaking as a Canadian, I know what chesterfield and davenport mean, but I've never used the terms in active conversation. Afghan is a perfectly normal word.

I know what a chiffarobe is from reading To Kill a Mockingbird, but that's it - I've never heard anyone EVER use it in real life.

My cousins who are just turning 30 (WHICH IS YOUNG, GODDAMN IT) still say chesterfield. Or sofa. But never couch.

I think that was still more of an older generation thing in Canada. My grandparents used to say chesterfield all the time, my mother occasionally and I say it practically...

that scene had me in hysterics!! i had a 90 year old landlady who used to reference the "chesterfield" all the time and i had to actually google it to figure out what she was on about.

Just saw the "Something Something Something Dark Side" ESB episode, which is the season finale but is being released on DVD in a couple weeks. Very funny, nothing particularly spectacular. Like the first one, they seem to be having more fun recreating their favorite scenes shot-for-shot and using the original sound effects.
