It's pretty good compared to the rest of the genre, but I've never been swept away by it. I've only seen like the first five episodes though, so perhaps it picks up after that point.

I watched the whole thing one weekend and then wrote Joss a letter telling him if he ever got a movie made I'd be there on opening night with my Blue Sun t-shirt. Promise kept.

It made me cry that it was so good and lasted for such a short period. I wish I would've watched it when it was first on.

Weird how memory plays tricks on you. Mal was a terrific character, but Caleb remains one of my favorite big bad henchmen. I dunno why I thought I'd seen Fillion before.

(BTW, you all are aware of his role in Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, aren't you?)

I just finished watching Serenity the movie -- yikes. I thought it to be excellent, but only if you disembody it from Firefly. Way too much conflict going on that hadn't been there before. The doctor...

Yep Jasmine was the first post Firefly (S4 of Angel)

Caleb and Hamilton were next (S7 of Buffy and S5 of Angel respectively).

It was all most definitely post Firefly.

Summer got her start on Angel in S2 playing a Prima Ballerina. Joss remembered her from that when it came time to cast Firefly.

Frainkly, I think it's been strong across the board -- not a weak ep yet. I think I have a particular fondness for the one with Jayne as a folk hero and the redheaded grifter's two eps so far.

And as always, the more Inara's the screen, the higher marks that ep deserves.

Are you sure Fillion did Firefly first and then Caleb? Maybe I got them backwards, but I remember recognizing him when I first tried to watch it on air, but when I first saw Gina Torres as...

I can't wait. Disc 3 should be here tomorrow, but my parents are visiting for the weekend so we probably won't have time to watch anything. Maybe Sunday afternoon when they leave we can do a marathon.

Oh that was a great ep. I loved that this show pretty much found its footing right away unlike most shows which usually get their grooves in S3.

The finale is also something very different. Joss' commentary on it is very special. You can tell this was a very important project to him with a special place in his heart.

The movie is such a blast!

What an odd coincidence -- I've just started disc 4, with the kid in the coffin, having worked my way through beginning in the middle of May.

Outstanding series. I think I figured out why I got thrown off when it first aired -- apparently, Fox debuted with ep 3 or so, ran at least one more ep, then backtracked and aired the pilot. I couldn't get used to these people, and I think this was shortly after Nathan Fillion had been Caleb on Buffy, and further freaked me out....

My sister has been trying to get me to watch this show since it was originally aired. A year or two ago, she forced me to put the dvds on my Netflix queue. It has been slowly working it's way up to the top, occasionally getting bumped back down 30-40 spots because we already had too much other TV to watch on the Tivo. It made it to the top again right when BSG ended for this year and we decided to give it a try.

I love this show!!! How could I have waited so long? And now...

Is anyone planning to watch this? I've watched the DVDs countless times, but I'm hoping that it will gain a new audience, now.
