Great episode, from Robin riding her bike through the streets of NY to Barney's need for a hit. On the debate of NY vs. NJ, NY wins hands down. I hate everything about Jersey. And Stella mentioned they have the shore....big deal. It's turned into a shithole from when my family used to go there when I was younger.

Completely random, but they used "Boom goes the dynamite!" on Family Guy a week earlier. Obviously both were already filmed, but I thought it was funny that we got such a random reference by two different comedies.

Oh and Ball State has made it into football's top 25. ESPN has been talking about the most famous Ball State graduates, and "Boom goes the dyanamite!" guy was on their list of like 4 people.

i am surprised that no one has commented on stella's "boom goes the dynamite" exclamation as they entered her basement in nj.

the etymology of that phrase was in one of the greatest sportscasts ever in the history of sportscasts. and i am sure was the inspiration of the writers for its inclusion in this ep.

Here's what I did, from DVD to GIF. You can probably skip the first few steps since you have them on your comp (as AVIs, I'm guessing) already.
1. Use DVD Decrypter to make a VOB file from the DVD...

Woohoo, after playing around with about 8 different programs I finally figured out how to make animated GIFs from movie files without spending a dime (the bill to clean up my computer after going on and getting adware from dozens of "TOTALLY FREE OMG!!11!" download sites will probably even things out). I'll be making more in the near future, but for those of you who want to join in on the Robin Scherbatsky avatar revolution, here you go:

I'm playing with my adobe suite myself, but it isn't free. There are a bunch of decent free programs out there which some I still use, but I haven't tried any yet that turn DVD to avi yet (I doubt you can go straight to gif.. the file would be just to big to work on, I would think).

Is there a free DVD-to-GIF converter out there? I'd be more than happy to make HIMYM avatars for people (or, sigh, even Big Bang Theory ones) if there is. Or if someone may or may not want to send me a copy of whatever software they use, that may or may not be awesome.

(Watching the DVDs of season 3 has reminded me that of a great potential avatar for someone in the scene where Robin has a dream and comes oh so close to making out with herself)
