Rewatching now.

Does anyone have any ideas why/what Sayid was digging? Hurley came up to talk to him about Naomi and he's just digging. Not in sand. What looked to be pretty dry earth with dead foliage/grass/hay-looking stuff on top.

I haven't noticed an Other that looked like Helen yet. I just rewatched the part where he's in front of the group and hesitating. I'll keep looking.

Did anyone rewatch The Brig and catch the Other who looked like Locke's Helen? If someone else saw this, sorry, I know that's bad protocol not to check the previous pages thouroughly... I did glance through, I just have barely had time to WATCH the show, let alone think about it.

But, at around 20:28 if I remember correctly, in 'The Brig', when Locke is hesitating in front of all the Others, there's a clip of a woman who looks a hell of a lot like Helen.

A plane would not get crushed like a pop can under water since it would float if it were that water tight. It would only start sinking after a breach in the cabin allowed water to enter. A plane is not anything like a submarine, and that's assuming a jet plane would be able to make a perfect belly landing on the water and survive intact without any significant structural damage. Any cracks or breaks in the outer skin would allow air to escape and water to enter equalizing the pressure and...

One thing that hasn't been brought up yet:

Naomi said the plane was found 4 miles deep. The pressure at that depth (a little over 21,000 ft.) is close to 9,500 psi, nearly 5 tons per sq. inch. Any aircraft wreckage found at that depth would most likely be crushed to the point that it would be impossible to find bodies inside, because they wouldn't be able to see inside. Actually, at that kind of depth, the plane would likely have been torn apart during its descent to the...

And why fake the crash? To terminate the search on the off chance that the island would be found by searchers, although as I understand it the island is a long way off the path that 815 would have normally taken.
