If you watched Nancy's show in the 90's, you knew that there was a nationwide cult of women wearing patchwork quilt vests. I'm pretty sure it was her show, where she always had a nifty vest someone had made. It scared me.

There was also some woman who had an embroidery show, where the featured technique was making 3-dimensional shell motifs, covering everything. These women had world conquest plans, swear to god.

they really would be - way more fun and campy than the japanese version of iron chef, and that was such a hit. the only problem is you can't really see what he's doing at all. if you really were trying to learn to sew, it'd be a crapshoot as to how it would come out.

"Shawn Quinlan" is just name of the guy's account who posted the vid. For some reason he put it in the title of it. That's the first time I've found any clips of "Sew What's New" on Youtube. I remember watching him back in the 80s with my friends and just cracking up. I bet if they re-ran those shows, they'd be a sensation.

omigod, george is wonderful! it's almost like watching the anal retentive chef, only he's for real! i love the way he rolls his r's. nancy used to be on pbs in georgia on saturday afternoons, but i've never seen george before. but why does the youtube label say 'shawn quinlan', when the video itself says george w. trrrrrippon?
