Always include at least two red shirts in your landing party. If the shooter is a Gorn you may be in luck as they're known for being very slow. However, if the shooter is a Melkotian representation of Wyatt Earp then you're out of luck (unless you convince yourself his bullets aren't real, then you might survive).

I know that in the case of a earthquake I should stand under a doorway or under a desk because I've been told by teachers and others what to do in that situation since I was a kid. I was also taught what to do in the case of a fire, attempted kidnapping and other emergencies. But what about random violence?
