I actually thought it was a bit boring, although I chalk that up to the "hostess" having zero on-screen charisma. Good thing her son and the grandma were there to make it interesting.

And I'm everso curious as to what medicine man makes them drink. That seemed dangerous, actually.

Thought last night's episode was great. I hope that getting the upcoming casino will help out and infuse the reservation with much needed funds. A tribe here just recently opened a casino, yesterday a news report said they make $24,000,000 a month, that gross so I don't know how much the tribe actually gets.

I, too had spent time on the Navajo reservation, teaching 16 years in reservation schools. I love the Navajo people and would go back again. I thought it was okay, but while I'm staunchly anti-gun, I grew up in the South and have heard it all before. Kind of meh for me this week. Next week looks like of okay though.

Anyone watch last night? I have to say, I was more fascinated with the tattered recliner than I was with the story. Oh, and the floral print sofa . Oh, and did anyone else think the kid was slightly off?

I'm not a gun person myself, but I do live in Texas, so I see both sides. This ep was another good example of someone with convictions, yet she was open to the other side of the coin.

I used to work with a guy that said the best peice of advice that he ever got was if you are hiring someone, try and get a Mormon, because you won't find someone more hardworking or honest. Don't know if that's true or not. But I'm trying not to generalize the mormons the way that woman generalized the "Evil gays" last night. She was this far from saying that they were trying to create some sort of gay army.

I think the show did a bit of a disservice by having a person of the Mormon faith take the 30 day challenge. I just read an article the other day that said Mormons are the least flexible in their thinking of all the recognized American religions. So, I wasn't surprised at all with her attitude toward gays/lesbians. I do believe if they had found a representative of the Christian church (even a fundie), it might have turned out differently. And believe me, I know from fundies. I work with...

I wanted to choke her when she was having a breakdown and carrying on about how hard it is to be the only one with a certain point of view while everyone else takes a position against you... but is too fucking stupid to realize that's how the gays must feel every day of their life as they hear from all sides (inlcuding nutjobs in the media) how they need to remain 2nd class citizens, etc.

Did anyone watch the season premier last night? I thought it was really good, and not as preachy as I've come to expect Morgan Spurlock to be. He did a very good job at showing the dangers of working the coal mines, but also explaining why miners choose that as a career, and why coal is still necessary to industries and to families.
