AI doesn't always work as a direct comparison, though. Michael set up huge expectations with his audition and his "Bohemian Rhapsody" in Hollywood. After that, he continually disappointed. Kristy Lee sucked pretty consistently, then started getting better. I'm not surprised that she would inspire fans to vote more than Michael did.

Brooke built up a lot of good will in the semis and the first week of the finals. It wasn't until top 11 that she started sucking....

Well, I never thought his performances were that bad. He should have definitely outlasted Kristy, and probably Jason and Brooke as well at the VERY least.
All three of them had some really klunker performances and while Michael didn't always do his best, he didn't have a TERRIBLE performance.

Michael may have had the talent to be a contender, but he didn't deliver at least 75% of the time. He was completely unmemorable and seemed bored throughout the semis. Then, in the finals, he alternated between really good and really bad performances. There was no consistency.

Yes, I agree they were both gone too early.

Carly probably should have left 3 or 4. And I'll firmly believe that Michael Johns should
have been standing next to David Cook on finale night.

To me, THEY were the best, most versatile singers in the comp.

Just my opinion though.

Secrest actually got something right for once, as people said. They WERE both voted off too early. Having said that, the duet was awful. Michael was fine but Carly's voice is all wrong for duets. As for Carly wearing tight hose or whatever, she does it for a good reason. I saw a photo posted on the Carly hate thread around top 10 week and her thighs are big. Sucksters would have a field day calling her "fat" if most of them had seen it (plenty did anyway, of course) so it's...

Carly has said she doesn't have any tattoos on her legs. She thinks tattoos on legs aren't a good look for women.

I think she's just self conscious and doesn't want to show off her legs because she thinks they're fat or ugly or something.

It definitely was a strange comment by Seacrest, one that I actually agree with, but still it's surprising he'd say it. Michael should have stayed one more week, so he didn't go THAT early, but Carly should have outlasted Brooke and Castro, IMO.

What's up with Carly's legs? I finally put it together watching the finale that she always wears pitch black hose/tights with dresses/skirts. Are her legs as heavily tattooed as her one arm? My husband thinks she must have a giant schlong inked down one leg. That or she has hideous varicose veins or something.

Seacrust actually got something right for once. Based on talent they both left way too early. I would have much rather heard what they had to offer than what Jason and Brooke gave us for weeks on end.

I thought they were good, but far from stellar.

Jason and Brooke's solo/duet both were much better than The Plants.

At this point ... I can not remember a single song that Carly or Michael sang ... and I...

I had read that the Top 5 would get to do a duet/solo so I was disappointed since Carly placed 6th.

Then when Seacrud announced two contestants who left too early would be doing a duet I thought it was Amanda and Stripperella for some reason and barfed in my mouth.

Once I realized it was the foreign plants I was so excited.

They owned imo. Loved it.
