I don't think Archie was thrown under the bus. Michael, Jason and Syesha were....they were used and then discarded when they were in the way. Archie is the pivot around which the show revolves. Cook was merely the worthy opponent!

From the beginning, Archie was the chosen one. He still is. They had to drum up some kind of excitement, so they started pimping Cook. Don't you remember? Everyone used to say give Archie the crown already. He had more votes than all the rest put...

It's his stupid vocal coach.

I actually feel badly for David because it's only going to reflect poorly on him in some people's minds. It's his vocal coach shooting off his mouth about shit and David probably never asked him to talk about it.
