and make sure that she understands that putting the caps lock on does not mean that you get all the characters and symbols on the top of the keys

we kept telling the MIL to type c colon and she was typing c semi-colon, plus she couldn't see what she wastyping as she hadn't liked th color scheme in the dos edit to having a white background and white text doesn't show up very well on a white background

I cringe at the thought of what tech supporters go through. I sympathize with them.

I remember one tech support story, where a women asked about the cup holder. You know, the thingie that ejects, and has a nice spot where you can put your coffee?

My 57 year old mother that I love her as a son. She is the most supporting mother in my family. Mother's Day is Sunday.

Interesting that someone who says "Windows 97" would feel that they are proficient enough to actually advise someone else about anything related to computers. Kind of like the "blind leading the blind", or in this case, the "dumbass leading the bigger dumbass."

My 81 year old mother refused to get a computer. She insisted she didn't need it. Her cell phone is 10 years old. She has a yearly plan and gets 500 minutes a year. She call me from
time to time on it because she wants to use up her minutes (she lives in Florida, I'm in NY).

My dad is an IT guy, so any computer problems go through him. Anything advanced (viruses, lost files/emails, advanced software installation) gets delegated to one of the kids. My mother uses the computer for only three things: online banking, checking email, and Spider Solitaire.

"I tried pulling out the plug behind this monitor and it is very hard to get off. Did not want to keep yanking on it so did not get it off yet."

Mother has been using a pc, that originally came with Win97 on it.
I decided it was finally time to upgrade her computer.

The one she has, has a whopping 2GB hard drive on it. Yes, you heard that right.
