I think pattic is exactly right when it comes to the mechanics of the ropes. I don't think there's a fourth part. It'll be three chops and you're out like the EI challenge.

I think there is one rope divided into three parts, each of the three parts tied to a different knob/anchor point. When the first part is chopped, the weight is now borne by the second part of the rope. When the second part is chopped, the weight borne by the third. When the third part of the rope is chopped, the smasher is released and you are out.

On Alexis' rope, I can see two additional parts of the rope currently loose and not bearing weight, but once Erik does his chop,...

Well to me, it looks like there is just 1 major rope divided into 4 parts...And each time one of them gets chopped, it weakens the main one and moves something toward or at the little head thing... dunno

I get the smashing part. You're right, it would be cool if the little men faces are bobble heads. They should have made a Probst one that could hang next to him during the challenge.

I wonder if the art department whipped those dolls up right after tribal council, or if they made a bunch of them earlier in the game. Maybe we'll get a Ponderosa video of Jason and his new stick.

What I can't figure out for some reason is the stringing system on the pommel...

O. K. birdlady, here is what I think that maybe the dynamics's of this challenge?...Now, please keep in mind that it is just a guess and I could be wrong...

I was thinking that every time that someones rope is chopped, their little head thingy, or something attached to it moves up or down...and after the last rope is chopped, something comes up and then will smash their head...lol. And then they are out of the game...So, when one of them or all of them gets the answer...

I can't figure out the geometry of these ropes. It's something like there are the four little knobby anchor points, and three places to chop (red, yellow, green). Here, Erik and Parvati are already down to their last rope, and Erik is getting ready to give Alexis her first chop?

Puts unwelcome attention on Parv. Gives the others the idea that maybe she should be a target(i) rather than the target(er). I was thinking that Amanda was the one to be the most desperate, but the tables could turn. I''m still looking to see how Amanda deals with the HII and how much better her use of it would be than the two guys before.

I could see this working similar to how the family challenge worked in Exile Island. The winner gets to choose two people to go on Reward with them, one loved one to go to camp, one to get a hug, and one to exile. Alexis and Cirie definitely get enough time with their loved one to steal their clothes.

Actually the worst thing for Parvati's game would be to win that chop RC and have to show her pecking order.
She gets targeted (as perceived leaders always are) by James\Erik and they do her a favour.

Let's see. Alexis doesn't get chopped, thus winning the reward and revealing her smart, l'il Southern self to be the most popular person on the island. She gets to see her Mom and Dad or whomever and gets to take Natalie, too. And maybe one other person, maybe not. THEN she returns to camp and busts her knee. THEN is blindsided, evidently. Probably BECAUSE she won the reward challenge....

You're talking about our left, right? I think that is the survivors. Natalie I believe, and Erik in his same yellow tshirt (and yellow hair).

I was thinking Cirie goes on reward because of the yellow shirt too, but in the past haven't they occasionally had little bundles for everyone from their loved ones? I seem to remember that happening at least once or twice. If so, Cirie could still end up with a new shirt. I'm still thinking she ends up going on reward though.
