The general consensus around here was that there was nothing so horrible about Ramiele (who came here as a child with her family, like 4th season finalist Anthony Fedorov) or Michael (who's lived here for 10 years) being eligible for AI. Carly was a different story, more because of her CD on MCA than her being here only 2 years (and moving here specifically to try to make it as a singer), though many people including me had a problem with that too.

Australians obviously don't care if their idol was born here, has citizenship or knows all the verses to Waltzing Matilda as one of our most popular winners is Irish born. He got his citizenship after winning.

Our age limit cut off is 30, so yes MJ could compete.

I read your comment, I just think it's stupid that you feel that someone should have been born in America just to win the competition. It's a talent competition for a record deal, it's not against the rules not to be a citizen yet and it's not like anyone hopped on a plane yesterday and came over just to be on AI.
