Murphy's xrays showed nothing, and neither did his rectal exam and abdomen check. after the vet he had a huge and healthy poo :)

blondemss, are you the one with the dog that eats their poop? I've been doing a lot of reading on natural nutrition for dogs because my dog has cancer and a few other problems and I've come across some information about dog poop eating. Try supplementing your dog's diet with B-complex vitamins. 50mg or less is fine. You can also try feeding him/her yogurt and/or eggs which as lots of b-vitamins. A B vitamin deficiency can lead to poop eating.

Ustra - I am in Denver. I've done the furry scurry before but not sure if I will be in town this year. Maxfund also does the Lucky Mutt Strut every year (July) and I usually volunteer for that. They are a no-kill shelter and don't get the funding that DDFL does. You should look at their available dogs (maxfund.org) as they have some little dogs right now. And I've seen a pug or two go through there as well.

Well, I thought it was a great show. I teared up and really want to adopt an animal now. I have been looking at the local pug rescue lately, because i really want another pug. I'm thinking a cute little mutt might be good as well.

MsJones, aren't you in the Denver area? Are you gonna go to the furry scurry? I think I just might, with some people from work.

I have gotten a couple of babies from the Atlanta Humane Society. They check you out a bit before approving you for adoption. AND they make you sign a contract to get the pet spayed or neutered. AND area vets accept the certificate in lieu of payment, so the surgery is free.

I take good care of my babies and I keep them their whole lives. I feel that I have earned a baby kitten every 15 years or so. I want them young.

btw, I once had a samoyed who ate a sock. It came unraveled in his intestines and just about killed him. Cost about two grand to gash his abdomen open and four hours to pull the whole thing out. Pretty dog though. Got him from a breeder.

Soooo, I work at a pet shop. We know where our puppies come from. The owner of the shop has been to the suppliers and we have pictures available for anyone who has any questions about the facilities. We had so many old ladies coming in the past couple days saying "DID YOU SEE OPRAH!?!?" and "Oooooh, this is so sad."

Someone on a CBR board had to get a partially digested pieces of a tennis ball removed from their dog's intestines 'cause they wouldn't pass through. Cost almost $2000 and they posted the pics of what was removed for our edification. Gross.

Needless to say, our dogs no longer get unsupervised time with their tennis balls and we've switched to those Kong balls instead.

I dunno, he's my mom's doggy. they're at the vet now. he did puke up the other sock last week, and continued to eat and drink okay, but diarrhea is something they warned us to look for, as well as difficulty pooing. can't hurt to see the vet for an xray.

he hasn't pooped the sock out, that much we know. but thanks!

it's good to be worried and keep an eye on it, however my dog has eaten everything she can get her grubby little paws on and a lot of the times after she's digested it it will THEN upset her stomache/system. it can already have left her system and she'll get the squirts a day or two later. how's his nose? temp and moisture-wise

update: Murphy is going to the vet this morning.. he was a little quiet yesterday and had diarrhea, and today did not poo when he normally does in the morning. That friggin' sock is probably STILL inside him

(and he still squats when he pees. 7.5 mos. and fixed.)
