I also work for a brokerage firm. We actually throw those "client appreciation" dinners once a year, in hopes that our clients will appreciate us so much that we will get their referrals. Plus, we get the fund company to pay for it, and it makes us look good to our clients. Phoofie, your ego has been well stroked. But, why not. You love your broker, he's doing his job. All's well in the world. Until tomorrow, when the really BIG prime mortgage crash happens.

People like to say that one should be appreciative of "all the things that life has to offer". But why should I be obliged to be happy? Why can't I just be neutral?
