New betting odds below. Michael Johns is a seriously good deal here. I truly believe David Archuleta will do a Clay Aiken thing - float to the top based on a huge fan base voting, but in the final two, AI producers are going to give the show to Michael Johns. Think about it - he's the only contestant so far that hasn't received some damaging criticism. They always just say, "we just haven't seen the best you can do yet", or "you need to find your signature...

Fantasia and Carrie were obvious wins. I had them pegged right from the start of the season. I don't know what the betting odds were for either of them, but to me at least it was clear they would win.

Taylor probably wasn't the odds-on favorite in his season, but anyone who looked at DialIdol after the first couple of weeks knew he was the probable winner.

All this brings up a good question: just how many people in the top 12 DO have a chance to win? Archuleta's obviously the favorite, and obviously Michael Johns and Carly Smithson have some shot. I'd definitely add Ramielle to that list, and maybe David Cook. But is there anybody else with even the remotest chance? Iincidentally, has anybody pointed out that the last favorite to win was Reuben, FIVE SEASONS AGO?
