It's actually an African-style tribal mask.

Which is eerily similar to much of the stuff decorating Ben's house on the island.

Re-watched this ep with the pop-ups (missed it the 1st time they ran it) & was intrigued by the writers telling us the sketching on the blackboard in the common room @ the loony bin was an Easter Egg. I froze it, but I only see an island, palm tree, shark, possible radio tower?

Has anyone got any ideas on this?

I have a theory about Hugo's comment to Jack about regretting going with Locke. I think what he meant was he regretted going with Locke because by doing that he separated the group. If Hugo doesn't go with Locke I bet no one else would have either. I think Locke will want his group to defend the island. Yep, it's like they're reconstituted or reanimated. It's as if they are Invasion of the Body Snatcherized by the smoke monster or other entity while retaining their personalities. When Eko went back to the burnt out plane, Yemi wasn't in it either. Maybe Jacob has a nice finished basement under that shack where all the "dead" people hang out.

Good points phantomkp. I guess the whole thing for me just goes back to the coffin being empty (Christian's that is). I had let the whole thing go pretty much but then the whole thing with Charlie saying he was "dead, but here" and then that webisode just brought it all back up again.

Seriously, one thing y'all have got to stop doing is thinking of time in a linear fashion. At this point in the show's progress, I'm pretty much convinced that time in the Lost-verse operates in some sort of organized randomness.

Ok- I finally got to watch the episode :)

I've gotta admit that I'd probably have enjoyed it even much more had I not read all the comments/spoilers beforehand about the episode.

For example- the opening scene- I already read the spoilers somewhere that it was going to be the car chase. And I knew long ago that it was going to be Hurley-centric.
And certain scenes- like the Jack/Locke division, Jack and Charlie visiting Hurley in the institution, Kate stealing...

And one more thing...Christian's suit and white, white sneakers are way to clean and in good shape for a guy who has been by himself on that island for 40 some odd days.

Except that the only times we have seem him clearly have been in the first few days of the crash, or within minutes of the crash as was the case in 'So It Begins'
