Yeah, I don't know what he was thinking.

Maybe he thought he needed a gimmick to stand out (can't blame him after watching last season).

But he definitely chose the wrong gimmick.

Definitely hot/talented enough for this top 24, but royally screwed himself with the bag-of-nails thing. It still makes me gag a little thinking about it.

He should not have shown the bag o nails (and soon to be sick fuck celebritard item of the week on E-bay) on national TV. That definitely colored my opinion of him. In fact, it made me pretty much detest him until today, which is when I listened again to his audition for the first time since. While I am distracted by the fact that he kinda looks like the love child of a scruffy hobbit and Jon Peter Lewis, I must admit that his voice was actually a lot better than I had remembered.

I'm from Lucedale and went to school with Brandon. You think he looked cute on tv? You should see him in person!! He has perfect teeth and a gorgeous smile.
