My home computer I leave off except when I need to use it. That's less often now, thanks to kids.

I do like to "Restart" or "Shut Down" fairly regularly, as I don't believe Windows has very good memory management. The static generated by the vacuum can destroy your motherboard. Just use compressed air. Well now...I was certainly playing with fire a couple weeks ago. I wasn't aware vacuums generated static electricity. I'm assuming wearing rubber gloves or one of them nifty static bracelets wouldn't help?

I only turn mine off when I go to bed. Not so much because of what experts say but because it's really long to reboot it, so once a day is enough with me. Leaving it on all night seems pointless and a waste of electricity though. That, and for some reason, leaving the TV or puter on when I go to sleep creeps me out.
