I finally saw the movie Cloverfield that was basically tongue bathed and creamed all over and honestly? Meh.

I thought that the special affects were great and the concept was great but the camera was shaking so badly at some parts that I literally could not tell WTF was happening. What use is having amazing special effects when everything is happening so fast and the fucking camera is flying all over the place so you don't know what the fuck is going on?

Why was this disaster of a thread bumped? For the freakin' discussion of the blu-ray disc? Thanks, but this movie has got to be the absolute worst in cinematography. No amount of additional viewpoints can save that. Even the non-monster parts of the film at the beginning are like someone has the camera hanging off the side of their shoulders.

Boy am i glad a gave this another shot. Maybe i just wasn't in the mood the other night, but this was nothing short of awesome and easily one of the best movies i've seen in a long long time. In fact i'm going to watch it again tonight. One minor complaint was i would have liked to have seen it end when they got buried under the rubble instead of cutting to a quick shot of what was being taped over. Other than that it was perfect.

During the shot of the horse pulling an empty carriage down the street, the military popup blurb says "this horse was merely fortunate. In amateur footage file #686X-1042-whatever, LSA (Large Scale Aggressor) is seen to be consuming several horses simultaneously." This and other lines essentially "confirm" there was other amateur film found by the government.

Other blurbs give information such as

- The communication calls the monster LSA for Large Scale...

I finally saw this about two weeks ago. It was ok, but I was blown away.

So they are making a sequel to this? Have any details come out on how the sequel, is it going to be a new set of people, during the time this took place?

Rented it tonight and turned it off after 30 minutes. I loved Blair Witch but this time the jumpy camera was too much.

Didn't like the people and the party scene was beyond boring. What i really didn't like though, was the images of 9-11 it invoked complete with people running into a store to escape smoke coming down the street.

I have all week to finish it though.

yeah, I'm probably going to buy the Blu-Ray disc despite not having a BD player or HDTV, just cause it'll be worth it to have it when I eventually do get them.

The Blu-ray has a neat feature that gives you multiple side windows in the form of military observation. One has a radar that shows the proximity of the monster and the bugs. Another has a map of Manhattan with blips showing the current location of the characters, the monster, and the army. Another has pop-up text providing background information about what's on the screen, from the perspective of the government.
