I think a great thing for Survivor to do would be finish after whatever season (16?) they have planned and then take a nice long break. Like 5-10 years. When they bring it back in the original format. All the old Survivor fans who are too jaded to watch now will at least check it out, and it will probably draw in some new ones.

Personally i always thought AI had it right when they do it once a year. It gives people enough time to forget how bad the show really is while making the show have that "special" feel to it. 2 times a year...

Yeah, I reckon it'll be on twice a year until s18, and then who knows... Maybe still twice a year, maybe just once a year. It depends if and how much these ratings keep sliding.

My guess is when the ratings for Survivor go down the first thing they will do is move it to another night or as a summer replacement show.

No, not every show is losing 15 to 25 percent of its audience each season. If that were true, network television would cease to exist in a few years.

I think Survivor is safe for a few years too. It's just that if it continues to lose between 15 to 25 per cent of it's audience every season like it has over the last few years, the prognosis ain't good. I wonder what CBS's trip number is that would make it scrap the show.

And every other network prime time TV show will lose 15...

It's official. S15 had the lowest rated debut of all seasons; down 25 per cent from last fall's Cook Islands and down 14 per cent from last spring's Fiji show. Clearly, MB is going to have to have hardcore lezzie scenes and allow Canadians on the show to beef ratings back up.
